SBGradMag: Stony Brook's Graduate Student Magazine SBGradMag is a new online publication created by graduate students for graduate students. It aims to generate a sense of community among graduate students via a variety of articles that address graduate student interests and concerns. The magazine covers events, housing, dining, research, the arts, and just about anything else that pertains to the graduate student experience at Stony Brook.
Eileen S. Chanza, the Editor-in-Chief of the SBGradMag for the 2007-2008 academic year, received her B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish from The City College of New York, CUNY. Currently she is a candidate for a PhD in the English Department at SBU. All graduate students are invited to submit articles and/or article ideas to Ms. Chanza at editor@sbgso.org.
Emily Churilla, the Assistant Editor for the '07-'08, is a third year PhD candiate in English and Cultural Studies whose research is invested in the limits of human life that are revealed through the everyday pain and violence intrisic to American neocolonialism and "democratic" interventionist practices. A native of the midwest, she currently resides in Port Jefferson Station with her cat, Calvin, and a fine collection of books.
